The Shed

The Shed

The Shed in Whitehall and Bordon is now open! We had been looking forward to seeing this new venue, so as a family we rushed along on opening day to check it out! This new part of the ongoing redevelopment of the area is already a huge hit with local families, with customers travelling to check it out from Surrey and Hampshire. The sun was out and the atmosphere was buzzing!

The Shed promises to be a unique, authentic shared experience in Whitehill & Bordon. It is a place for delicious artisan treats, home cooked meals, arts and crafts, creative workspaces and an exciting mix of entertainment. The beauty is that this vibrant space features shopping and food from local businesses. The entertainment and events schedule already looks promising, with more to come.

Eating

With a deli-shop, a micro-brewery, luxurious treats, and hearty, healthy meals, there's a great selection of food to sample. Inside The Shed there are a range of units dedicated to serving up tasty grub. There are indoor seats and also lots of space outside at tables or on the grass. My children spotted Dylan's Ice Cream straight away but were persuaded (fairly swiftly) to start with a kids' burger from Boiger UK. The adults were torn between Hermanos Mexican Street Food, Siam Oishi Japanese and Thai, Boigers and Crane Patisserie. In the end we tucked into a selection of thai food and burgers! All food on offer is great value and tastes delicious! It really suits a family dynamic to be able to choose from different eateries and sit together, in a fancy food hall style or outside.

The entertainer was making his rounds, which was a great hit while tucking into the Dylan's Camoglague Ice Cream special. Later in the evening there was more entertainment outside from performers on the festoon lit grass. We can already tell that this is going to be a hub for meeting friends, hanging out after swimming next door, enjoying entertainment or popping in for a shop.

Shopping

The beauty of The Shed is the abundance of local businesses who have taken up resisence - there’s an eco-friendly fill-up shop, a cycling store and a florist, not to mention the host of pop-ups joining at every Saturday Market. The weekly market will showcase different businessed each week providing great opportunity for browsing and shopping local. On the first Sunday of each month there is also a Vegan market outside.

Events

The upcoming events programme has a selection of family and adult features to be performed in 'The Cube'. The Hogmoor Troll has already grabbed our attention and there are soon to be more performers added to the list. You can find what is on here.

Address: The Shed, Sergeants Yard, Bordon, Hampshire, GU35 0DJ

As this is a newly redeveloped area, the postcode does not always show up in sat nav or maps so to find parking go to Budd's Lane - there is a large amount of free parking and you can walk straight up the steps to the market and The Shed.

Opening times:

Monday - Wednesday: 9am - 10pm

Thursday - Saturday: 9am - 11pm

Sunday: 10am - 10pm

We really enjoyed our visit to The Shed and can't wait to check out the up-coming shows (the kids definately can't wait for another Ice cream from Dylans!). After so much closure and 'staying in' it's great to be able to get out and about again. The Shed is right next to the new Whitehall and Bordon Everyone Active lesuire centre so the whole area has such a lot to offer. With Bordon and Hogmoor Inclosures just around the corner, why not make a day of it?
