Christmas Tractor Runs in Hampshire
You'll probably hear them first. A deep rumble, a burst of Christmas music, then round the corner comes a tractor that looks like it's swallowed a garden centre's entire stock of fairy lights. Then another. And another.
Christmas tractor runs have become one of the loveliest free things to do in the run-up to Christmas across Hampshire. Local farmers spend weeks decorating their machines, then head out in a glowing convoy through villages and towns, collecting for charity as they go. Little ones wave like mad, the drivers wave back, and everyone goes home a bit more Christmassy than they left.
Here's where to catch them this year, all within easy reach of Farnham.
Christmas Tractor Runs in Hampshire 2026
Before you go
Wrap up warm. You'll be standing still a while, so think hats, gloves and a flask of something hot.
Find your spot early. The tractors keep moving, so pick a good bit of pavement and stay put.
Watch from the route, not the start. Farm yards are busy places while the convoy lines up.
Check on the day. Timings can slip, so look at the organisers' Facebook pages before you set off.
Bring some change. Most runs have bucket collections.
Keep little ones back from the kerb. They're still tractors, however sparkly.
Christmas tractor runs in Hampshire, in date order
Overton & Whitchurch Christmas Light Tractor Run
When and where: Saturday 28 November. Tractors gather at Polhampton grain store, Ashe, from 3.30pm and set off at 5pm.
What to expect: The first festive run of the season, now in its second year. Hosted by the Memories of Farming in Hampshire club, the convoy takes an 18-mile loop through Oakley, Overton and Whitchurch. Last year it finished at Overton Christmas Market and raised more than three times its target, so it's clearly struck a chord. Donations go to the Farming Community Network.
Got a tractor? The organisers would love as many as possible. Entry is a minimum £10 donation per tractor.

Woolton Hill Tractor Run
When and where: Saturday 12 December. The tractors leave Woolton Hill, lit up, at 4.30pm and reach Newbury's Bartholomew Street from around 6pm.
What to expect: A run that brings the countryside into town. After setting off from Woolton Hill, the convoy heads into Newbury along Bartholomew Street and Northbrook Street, loops round Market Place, then leaves via the Andover Road towards Enborne. Newbury town centre is the place to be for the biggest crowds. It's free to watch, with money raised for the Farming Community Network and Swings & Smiles.

The Bramley Christmas Tractor Run
When and where: Sunday 13 December, around Bramley and the surrounding villages north of Basingstoke. Times and route to follow.
What to expect: A proper village affair, with a prize for the best dressed tractor and a Christmas raffle. Last year the convoy set off at about 4.45pm and wound through Bramley, Sherfield on Loddon, Little London, Silchester, Pamber Heath and Tadley before finishing around 7pm, so any of those villages should be a good bet again.

Petersfield Christmas Charity Tractor Run
When and where: Saturday 19 December. The parade sets off at around 5pm and returns to Petersfield Square at about 8.15pm.
What to expect: Now in its fifth year, and one of the biggest runs in the county. The decorated tractors tour Petersfield and the surrounding villages, raising money for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. Last year the route took in Buriton, South Harting, Rogate, Milland, Liphook, Rake, Liss and Sheet, so the Farnham side of things is well covered.
The best bit for families? When the convoy rolls back into Petersfield Square, the tractors park up and you can walk around them for a proper close-up look.
Tractor Runs in Hampshire we're still awaiting dates for:
These two usually run after Christmas. We'll add the dates as soon as they're announced.
Romsey Young Farmers Tractor Run: a huge convoy (more than 300 tractors last year) from Broughton to Romsey, usually in the quiet days between Christmas and New Year. Last year it raised money for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Southampton Children's Hospital.
Brockenhurst Young Farmers New Year's Eve Tractor Run: a daytime loop of the New Forest, taking in Beaulieu, Lymington High Street and Pennington. Last time it set off from Brockenhurst at 11am.
Can't wait until Christmas?
The Children in Need Tractor Run sets off from Burryers Common Farm near Petersfield (GU32 2BJ) at 10am on Sunday 15 November. The route goes through Steep Marsh, Sheet, Petersfield, Liss, Milland and Liphook. It's a daytime run, not a festive one, but there's every chance of a Pudsey or two.
