Queen Elizabeth Country Park is just off the A3, three miles south of Petersfield in Hampshire and lies within the South Downs National Park.

The park is open all day every day and is free to visit.

Car parks are open 8am to 6pm with charges;

Wendy Witch has made her magical pet disappear oops! Can you help her find the missing ingredients for her reappearing spell? Each pack comes with a trail guide, pencil, Halloween craft to do at home, and a spooky prize. Your trail pack will be available from the Visitor Centre please bring proof of purchase to show to the staff on arrival.

You are free to do your trail whenever you wish providing you visit during opening times 10.00am – 4.00pm and while the trail is set up Saturday 24th October – Sunday 1st November.

We advise you wear suitable clothing and footwear due to inclement weather and uneven terrain in the woodland. If you are bringing infants with you we advise bringing durable pushchairs/buggies or baby carriers.


There are three permissive walking trails which are clearly way marked on the ground. All three can be found in the on-site leaflet.

  • Short woodland trail. 3km (1.9 miles)
  • Long woodland trail 8km (5 miles)
  • Downland trail 2.7km (1.7 miles)

Butser Hill Nature Reserve is park of Queen Elizabeth Country Park and has a children's story walk available - for more details visit here.


There is a cafe, a playground and a visitor centre, as well as activities listed on the website.
